Ruben Amorim has been sacked as Manchester United manager to close one of the turbulent chapters in the club’s history, and the past is coming back to react.

The outburst against Leeds might have been Ruben Amorim’s undoing at Man Utd, even though the club say the reason is something else.

Ultimately, his hard stance on some non-negotiable issues came back to cost him, which included his stance on some players.

Before going into details, it is worth mentioning that Garnacho’s own move has also backfired spectacularly, with Chelsea sacking Enzo Maresca before Amorim got relieved of his duties.

Therefore, Amorim getting sacked doesn’t give him any vindication about his own time at Old Trafford, regardless of how it aged.

Having said that, Garnacho being happy with Amorim’s sacking was the most predictable part of this developing story.

That is exactly what has happened, as Garnacho “liked” Fabrizio Romano’s Instagram post announcing Amorim’s sacking.

At the time of writing, he was the only high-profile footballer with a United history to interact with the post, because players are generally wary of engaging in sensitive matters.

Not Garnacho, though, who is clearly quite keen to get it out there how happy he is to see Amorim leave the club.

Garnacho’s actions vindicate Amorim

Amorim had a lot of faults at United, and many Man Utd fans recognise this, but Garnacho doing this thing on social media ends up vindicating Amorim instead.

This kind of behaviour is exactly what put the player in Amorim’s cross-hairs, and a cultural reset is something he succeeded in achieving.

Regardless of who the Man Utd manager is, this kind of thing is completely unacceptable and only serves to fuel a chaotic atmosphere.

He might have made his feelings clear on the decision, but it doesn’t vindicate him. If anything, he has done exactly what Amorim froze him out for doing.
