It’s usually the trend among radio pundits to talk Manchester United players down, and try and find faults in them. Or to criticise manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.
So it was strangely refreshing to see Aaron Wan-Bissaka being talked up on Talksport yesterday.
Wan-Bissaka was subject of praise from former Rangers star Ally McCoist, who said the United defender should be a must-pick for the European Championships.
McCoist said: “I’ll tell you now, the one player I would be taking is Wan-Bissaka.
“If England draw France in the Euros, who would you want on that right-hand side against Mbappe? The first role a defender is to defend.”

Overlooked
Wan-Bissaka has no England caps and has been consistently overlooked by Gareth Southgate.
It has led to some speculation he could opt to play international football for DR Congo.
England are not short of options, with Kyle Walker, Kieran Trippier, Reece James, and Trent Alexander-Arnold competing for a right-back spot.
Wan-Bissaka still has to refine his game in an attacking sense, but he has consistently proven himself as an outstanding defender – which as McCoist points out, could come in useful in big games.
Just ask Raheem Sterling who he would least like to face, and his answer every single time would be Aaron Wan-Bissaka.
Kylian Mbappe ran into the Wan-Bissaka brick wall in Paris when United shut PSG down in a 2-1 win.
It seems odd that there has been such an imbalance in terms of selection, that Wan-Bissaka has not had a single cap.
Wan-Bissaka has played 92 games for United in just under two seasons and is the model of consistency for his club.
It is a shame he is not getting the respect he deserves at international level, and this looks set to be England’s loss.
There is nobody we would rather see at right-back against a top opposition winger in a big game. England may find out the error of Gareth Southgate’s methods the hard way this summer.
