Manchester United return Premier League action on Saturday evening with a trip to face West Ham.
United will be looking to get back on track after Wednesday’s 3-1 defeat at the hands of Paris Saint-Germain.
It will be the first Premier League game played in front of fans since March and United will need to play well to get a result.
Here is a look at three reasons to be wary of David Moyes’s side…
United’s poor recent record
United have lost on their last two visits to the London Stadium and drew 0-0 there the time before.
The performances in that 3-1 loss under Jose Mourinho and last season’s 2-0 defeat under Solskjaer were unacceptable.
On both occasions, United were slow to start and blown away by their hosts. Complacency played a major part.
The Red Devils were second best in the opening part of the game against PSG and must get out of the blocks in better fashion here.
Moyes’s side will have their sights set on making it three consecutive home wins over United.
Hammers have stunned the big boys
West Ham had a horribly tough run of fixtures to start the season, but came through impressively.
They’ve got draws against Manchester City and Tottenham already this season, and caused Arsenal and Liverpool real problems in harsh 2-1 defeats.
At the end of last term, they were good value for a 1-1 draw at Old Trafford and beat Chelsea 3-2.
The Hammers seem capable of raising their game when facing one of the country’s elite sides and United will have to be ready for that.
They’re only four points off top
West Ham beat Aston Villa 2-1 on Monday night to go fifth in the Premier League.
Their haul of 17 points so far puts them just four behind table-toppers Tottenham and one ahead of United.
Moyes has assembled a team who are high on confidence. They’re solid at the back, robust in midfield and carry a goal threat because they’re clear on how they want to play.
This is a tricky game to kick off a big week for Ole Gunnar Solskjaer and it cannot be taken lightly.
