Ole Gunnar Solskjaer told reporters at his post-match press conference Scott McTominay is carrying a niggle.
Manchester United thumped Everton 4-0 at Old Trafford today and McTominay came on as a substitute for about 20 minutes.
Solskjaer said: The staff are doing great work, the sports science guys are working hard to get everyone up to speed as quickly as possible.
“A few players now we’ve had a few niggling injuries, Scott [McTominay] for example, so hopefully he’ll feel no more after effects after this 20 minutes he played.”

When asked about Martial, who started the match before being withdrawn at half time, Solskjaer said: “He’s been training well with us but players who’ve been out for a while, they need some more sharpness, need some more work.
“It’s better than what you fear sometimes when he’s been injured since March. He felt good after, the knee was showing no side effects, no reaction. Hopefully it’ll be the same when he comes into training again.”
McTominay’s fitness issue is a potential worry. He has been back in pre-season training since mid-July, but today was his first pre-season action.
And even then, he was only fit for 20 minutes, at centre-half against a side offering very little threat.

Paul Pogba and Fred are only just coming back, too.
Nemanja Matic and Donny van de Beek started at the base of midfield in this one and maybe that will be the duo which starts against Leeds a week today.
Matic’s lack of speed would be a worry against Leeds though, and McTominay shone against the Whites last term.
He smashed in two early goals in that 6-2 win and his running power was so important against Marcelo Bielsa’s men.
It doesn’t sound like he’ll be at his physical peak next weekend, but at least the prognosis was better on Martial.
