Manchester United are heading to a pre-season training camp… in Surrey.

International travel restrictions make a trip abroad unnecessarily complicated so United are remaining in the UK.

This is part of a team building exercise ahead of Saturday’s friendly away at QPR.

Euro 2020 duo Dan James and Scott McTominay are the only players to join the squad, United confirmed.

Tahith Chong and Nathan Bishop continue before heading off on their pre-agreed loans.

Goalkeepers: Nathan Bishop, Lee Grant, Tom Heaton, Matej Kovar.

Defenders: Di’Shon Bernard, Will Fish, Teden Mengi, Alex Telles, Axel Tuanzebe, Aaaron Wan-Bissaka, Brandon Williams.

Midfielders: Andreas Pereira, Ethan Galbraith, James Garner, Hannibal, Daniel James, Dylan Levitt, Jesse Lingard, Juan Mata, Nemanja Matic, Scott McTominay, Facundo Pellistri.

Forwards: Tahith Chong, Anthony Elanga, Mason Greenwood, Joe Hugill, Shola Shoretire.

Who is missing?

One notable absentee is Anthony Martial, who has not been back involved despite sitting out the Euros. He is still recovering from injury.

Donny van de Beek also misses out after a groin injury ruled him out of the Euros. There is no place for Dean Henderson either even though he was pictured in pre-season training last week. He too has been recuperating from a hip injury.

Paul Pogba, Bruno Fernandes, Diogo Dalot, Dean Henderson, David de Gea, Harry Maguire, Luke Shaw, Marcus Rashford, Jadon Sancho, Fred, and Edinson Cavani will all rejoin the team at a later date.

It is possible some of these players link up with the squad during the training camp itself. But for now the above list is the players who will set off today.

Solskjaer told the club website on the training camp: “It’s [about] learning for the young ones and it’s also for the experienced ones to show what’s needed, what’s done and of course some singing – that’s always good for them.

“You need to get the personality out of them. We want to see that they’re confident players. They’re good players so why not see that they’re confident.”
