Rasmus Hojlund fuming with Man Utd teammate after 42nd minute moment vs Wolves

Manchester United have been beaten by Wolves on Boxing Day. This leaves Ruben Amorim with just one win in five.

Boxing Day usually brings positive results for Manchester United, but this year was vastly different.

Ruben Amorim watched as his side were out-classed and out-fought on the pitch at Molineux.

This saw Andre Onana let Matheus Cunha score directly from a corner – the second time this has happened in a week after Heung-min Son did it to Altay Bayindir.

Wolves scored a second in the dying moments, as they beat United 2-0 in the end, with the Red Devils looking hopeless.

United were awful and in the first half, Rasmus Hojlund was spotted fuming at one of his teammates.

Rasmus Hojlund frustrated by Amad Diallo

A few weeks ago against Plzen, Amad Diallo and Hojlund had a spat at the end of the 2-1 win.

Now, we have seen round two, at Molineux in the first half of the defeat to Wolves.

Journalist Simon Peach took to X, explaining that in the 42nd minute, Hojlund had been giving off to Amad for his poor decision-making.

The decision in question was Amad opting to shoot rather than pass to an open Hojlund.

Poor decision-making has been all too prevalent for United in recent weeks and it is starting to severely cost Amorim.

14-touch Hojlund barely had a sight of goal for Manchester United

In the game, Hojlund played 79 minutes and only had 14 touches of the ball – an atrocious amount which demonstrates how poor creatively this United side is.

Hojlund failed to get a touch in Wolves’ box throughout the game and it is a problem which Amorim needs to solve.

Despite not being an elite goal scorer, when given a chance, Hojlund’s conversion rate is impressive.

So with this in mind, United need to create far more for Hojlund. Even when we have led on expected goals in recent weeks, Hojlund has been far from overcome by opportunities in front of goal.

Hojlund’s two goals this season in the league have come from just 1.89 expected goals and nine shots. Quite simply United must create more for the No.9 otherwise there is little point in having him.
