The performance of Jadon Sancho was a rare positive from Manchester United’s 1-1 draw against Southampton at Old Trafford.
The England international opened the scoring in the first half before United let the lead slip in the early part of the second half – just as they did at Burnley on Tuesday.
Rangnick was asked about Sancho by BT Sport after the game, and said that he is in the best form of his Manchester United career.
It is tough to disagree, and Sancho certainly looks more confident and benefiting from the run in the side – although it was strange that he and Marcus Rashford kept swapping.

“Jadon is in good shape,” said Rangnick. “Not only in the first half but also in the second half he had his good moments.
“With Jadon’s performances in the last couple of weeks, I am very pleased. This is the Jadon Sancho I know from the Bundesliga.
“There is still more space for improvement for him but the way he is playing is the best Jadon Sancho that Manchester United has seen so far.”

As per WhoScored, Sancho had two shots on target – as many as any player in a red shirt – and laid on a key pass as well.
He did his defensive work too – making two interceptions which was also the joint highest of any United player on the pitch.
Sancho looks more comfortable on the left flank, despite the fact it was initially thought he had been brought in to sort United issues on the right.
It is to be hoped that he keeps going from strength to strength despite the struggles for the side as a whole as results continue to disappoint.
