Manchester United’s Premier League season is showing signs of life after a third consecutive home victory.

Despite Manchester United’s early struggles and pressure growing on Ruben Amorim, three wins from the last five shows that things are improving.

It was a game United simply had to win, with Paul Scholes saying pre-game he’d not be shocked if Amorim was gone, and the performance was one that we can’t help but be impressed with.

United scored after eight minutes, with Mason Mount converting Bryan Mbeumo’s cross with an excellent strike into the bottom corner.

Following this, Benjamin Sesko doubled his tally for the season with a poacher’s goal, tapping home from close range after a long throw-in.

Following the game, United fans have been voting for their man of the match.

Manchester United fans name Senne Lammens as the man of the match

It was a professional 2-0 win from Manchester United, something we haven’t seen much of over the past few years, and the manner in which the points were claimed is encouraging.

United had several standout performers vs Sunderland, but only one could be the man of the match, and fans on United in Focus‘ poll have had their say.

Lammens was the clear pick from fans, as the shot stopper had an almost transformational impact on United, a vast improvement on Altay Bayindir, for example.

The performance sees Lammens already compared with David de Gea, being the replacement for the Spaniard that United have been looking for over the past two years.

After the win, Amorim specifically noted Lammens’ performance.

Senne Lammens is unanimously Manchester United’s man of the match

Without going over the top based on one performance, Lammens has solved the goalkeeping nightmare for Amorim, proving he is a trustworthy pair of hands.

Fans on the United in Focus poll agreed, and so did those voting on the official Manchester United website poll post-game.

The two polls had the same five names in the top five, proving that the fanbase is on the same page.

Lammens won both polls, which makes him unanimously the man of the match.
