Manchester United fans have made their stance clear on Alejandro Garnacho after Liverpool inflicted a devastating 3-0 defeat on the Red Devils at Old Trafford on Sunday.
Erik ten Hag’s men have now lost two of their opening three Premier League matches of the season ahead of the September international break.
Manchester United clinched a hard-fought 1-0 win over Fulham at Old Trafford in their Premier League opener before suffering back-to-back defeats.
The Red Devils lost 2-1 to Brighton at the Amex last week before Erik ten Hag’s men were blown away by Arne Slot’s in-form Liverpool side in their Premier League clash.
Luis Diaz fired Liverpool into a first-half lead in the 35th minute at Old Trafford after the Reds pounced on a shocking mistake from United midfielder Casemiro.
Casemiro was at fault for a second howler seven minutes later, with Liverpool star Luis Diaz punishing United again by completing his brace.
Mohamed Salah then added Liverpool’s third in the second half and Ten Hag’s side offered very little in response to the Reds’ dominating performance.

Man Utd star Garnacho vs Liverpool
Alejandro Garnacho missed the Manchester United pre-season tour in the summer after representing Argentina at the 2024 Copa America in the United States.
The 20-year-old Spain-born winger linked up with United teammate Lisandro Martinez at the Copa America, with Argentina successfully defending their international title.
Garnacho came off the bench in the Community Shield last month and made an impact by firing United into the lead at Wembley against Manchester City.
Despite netting against Manchester City in the Community Shield defeat, Garnacho had to settle for a place on the bench in the opening two Premier League matches.
However, the Argentina international made his presence felt against Fulham after setting up summer signing Joshua Zirkzee for the second-half winner.
Amad Diallo has started ahead of Alejandro Garnacho this season after impressing on the pre-season tour under United boss Erik ten Hag.
However, Garnacho made his first Premier League start against Liverpool and the United winger offered very little with his performance at Old Trafford.
Ten Hag was forced to withdraw Garnacho in the 69th minute and introduced Amad Diallo into the attack amid United trailing Liverpool 3-0 on the scoreline.
Man Utd fans react to Garnacho’s display vs Liverpool
United fans on social media platform X, formerly Twitter, called Garnacho an “impact player” more than a starter and said he “didn’t do anything” against Liverpool.
Red Devils supporters also took aim at the ‘agenda’ of people saying that Garnacho should have stayed on and Marcus Rashford should have been taken off.
Marcus Rashford has been met with criticism this season, but the United star was denied his first two assists after missed chances from striker Joshua Zirkzee.
“I know people aren’t mad Garnacho went off instead of Rashford, who has now put two perfect crosses on a plate for Zirkzee that should have been easy sitters,” one fan said.
Someone else added: “Garnacho didn’t do anything this game and I find it hilarious they wanted Rashford off before him – the agendas are insane.”
A third X user wrote: “But Garnacho was worse today and also didn’t really do anything against Brighton? Rashford should have had two assists today.”
“People going in on Rashford before going in on Bruno [Fernandes] and Garnacho is crazy to me. He’s been miles better than those two,” another posted.
While a fifth commented: “TBH, Garnacho was worse than Rashford today but fans won’t admit it.”
Another tweeted: “Seeing a lot of Rashford hate but he’s created two chances that should have been put away. Has done more than most today. Had no issue Garnacho coming off before him as he wasn’t in the game at all.”
Somebody else said: “I actually didn’t mind Garnacho coming off, he hadn’t contributed much and Rashford has made our two best chances. Bruno [was] pretty anonymous.”
And an eighth simply argued: “Garnacho is an impact player at best. We need a proven left winger.”
