‘The problem’… Manchester United fans are fuming with Erik ten Hag as Jadon Sancho plays another blinder

Jadon Sancho has enjoyed another brilliant performance for Chelsea and it has left some Manchester United fans furious with Erik ten Hag.

Chelsea have stormed into the lead against Brighton, with Cole Palmer becoming the first player in Premier League history to score four goals in the first half.

If it wasn’t painful enough for Manchester United fans to see a player who grew up supporting the club doing so well, the fact that one of their own players helped him do so rubbed salt in the wounds.

While Palmer will rightly get the headlines, Jadon Sancho was the unsung hero in the electrifying first-half display.

The winger won a penalty and delivered an incisive ball into the box for Palmer to smash in his fourth.

Sancho has started to look like the player United were so desperate to sign at Stamford Bridge and already has three assists to his name in just 150 minutes of football for Chelsea.

The 24-year-old never looked this bright for United and fans have directed their ire in the direction of Erik ten Hag for being unable to get the best out of him, for being unable to mend the relationship between the pair and for allowing him to leave to a top-four rival.

United fans give their thoughts on Sancho’s great Chelsea display

United fans have flocked to X, formerly Twitter, to share their dismay at the quality Sancho has displayed since moving to Chelsea.

While a lot of fans questioned the club’s decision, Ten Hag came in for a lot of flack as well.

One fan posted: “Sancho is dropping assist. I will say again, Ten Hag is our biggest problem right now and the sooner we let him go, the better for our season.”

Another added: “Sancho is a top player, Ten Hag fooled me,” while another said: “Look at Sancho thriving… Ten Hag is a huge issue.”

“It’s not Sancho, It’s not Premier League, it’s not Bundesliga It is TEN HAG,” one fan wrote, while another added: “Ten Hag Made us believe Jadon Sancho is not good.”

Another posted: “Sancho balling for Chelsea, what a shock. Truth be told, United don’t stand a chance of top 4 this season. It’s nailed on for City, Arsenal, Liverpool and Chelsea.

“Another player Erik couldn’t get a tune out of, yet no problem at Chelsea?? Or Dortmund.”

Have United made a massive mistake by selling Sancho?

Though Sancho is only on loan this season, Chelsea have an obligation to buy him for £25m next summer.

So regardless of how well he does this year, United have lost Sancho. Not only can they not bring him back for another bite of the cherry, potentially without Ten Hag in charge, but the price has been set.

United will only get £25m, a pittance of the £80m they finally bought Sancho for after years of failed attempts.

That’s another ridiculous amount of money United have thrown down the drain and an early blemish against Ineos’ running of the club.

Sir Jim Ratcliffe and his new board were meant to get United running properly again after years of decline under the Glazers but their handling of Sancho in the market is cause for concern.

Sometimes players just don’t fit clubs and it’s best to move on but to lock in the price for Sancho so low was a big risk that looks like it will backfire massively.
