Bruno Fernandes showed a bit of fight in Manchester United’s defeat to Sevilla which was lacking at the start of the season.
United lost 2-1 to Sevilla with wasted chances the main reason why.
Victor Lindelof made an error to lose his man for Sevilla’s winning goal, and Bruno Fernandes let him know it.

Fernandes took his teammate to task with a public blast which former Red Devils icon Roy Keane would have been proud of.
It was a sign of how badly Fernandes wants to win, and how much the game mattered to him.
This led to calls on social media for Fernandes to be given the captain’s armband, given the way he challenged his teammate.
Solskjaer is committed to Maguire
Having only recently appointed Harry Maguire as full-time captain in January, manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is not going to change this any time soon.
Maguire plays in almost every game, last night he was making his 55th appearance of the season.
But he does lack the fiery nature which Fernandes possesses. It is hard to imagine him calling out his teammate in the same manner.
Maguire is not beyond reproach too with his own defending. He was not positioned greatly to cut out either of Sevilla’s crosses which led to their goals.

Fernandes had another strong game, creating four chances, and this has been an impressive 2020 for him since joining. He has only lost twice in United colours, sadly both in semi-finals.
The captaincy may await him in the future, he possesses all the right tools.
He is vocal, he inspires his teammates, and he leads the club on and off the pitch.
In many ways Fernandes is like a captain already, and he doesn’t need the armband to validate his role as a leader.
