Reports in Spain have linked Cristiano Ronaldo with a swift Manchester United exit to join Paris Saint-Germain in the summer.
They report that Zinedine Zidane will take charge of PSG ahead of the new Ligue 1 season, and he wants a reunion with Ronaldo in the French capital.
That would of course make Ronaldo teammates with Lionel Messi, while also leaving Mauricio Pochettino free if United did swoop for the Argentine as the new permanent boss.
Journalist Fabrizio Romano was asked about the rumours from Marca on Rio Ferdinand’s FIVE YouTube show and played them down.

“I don’t trust these rumours to be honest,” said Romano. “Never say never in football but as of today, I don’t trust these rumours.
“I am told that as of today Cristiano Ronaldo and Jorge Mendes, his agent, are not in negotiations with any other club.
“They are not planning for any change from the Manchester United plan they had last summer.
“With PSG, I don’t think they will go for another legendary player after signing Lionel Messi. They want to go for someone younger, fresher and new. I don’t see PSG signing Cristiano at the moment.”

Ronaldo made an emotional return to United in the summer and it is difficult to see him and Messi in the same team.
The rumours did not look especially plausible and that would appear to be the case at this moment in time.
Ronaldo was left on the bench as United drew 1-1 at Burnley, and unable to influence the game when he came on for Edinson Cavani in the second half.
The outcome of United’s season could influence Ronaldo’s future, but his immediate focus is seemingly on the here and now, and he needs a first goal of 2022.
