Cristiano Ronaldo has made a career of setting records and he is not stopping.
Ronaldo’s brace last night for United took him up to 127 goals for the club, to 15th of the all-time scorers list.
And that was not the only record he set against Atalanta with his two goals in the 2-2 draw.
Ronaldo became the oldest United player to score twice in a European fixture.
The oldest player to net a brace in the Champions League is Filippo Inzaghi, who did so at 37.
The goals saw Ronaldo score for a fourth game in a row in the Champions League, a feat he had not managed before for Manchester United.
No player had done it for United for the past 18 years. Ruud van Nistelrooy actually netted five games in a row, so Ronaldo needs to score in his next game to equal that tally.
Ronaldo incredibly now has an all-time leading 139 Champions League goals.
20 of these have now come for United, with Ronaldo joining an elite group of Red Devils players.
Van Nistelrooy, Ryan Giggs, Paul Scholes and Wayne Rooney are the only other United players with 20 or more Champions League goals for the club, with Ronaldo joining this group.
