The next generation at Manchester United is continuing to prove it is a cut above the rest, with the U17s now thrashing Middlesbrough.
Ineos are obsessed with the academy at Carrington and have proven this already since taking charge by placing heavy emphasis on signing 16 to 18 year olds for the academy.
Manchester United has historically always used the academy, with over 250 academy graduates making it to the first-team and the next generation coming through promise to add to that record.
Right now there are too many elite talents at the club to even count, with a handful seen among the best in the nation including the signing of Chido Obi-Martin from Arsenal.
Now a few of these talents have proven once again why they are so highly rated during a 6-1 U17 win.

Manchester United academy wonderkids thrash Middlesbrough 6-1
This season, the U17s have been following the example left by the U18s and have been in immense form after thrashing Liverpool last week – now another convincing victory has been scored.
One player to play a starring role was Amir Ibragimov, with the talented forward scoring another two goals – with one being a very special strike.
Ibragimov’s goal contribution tally in recent weeks now becomes eight in just five games across U18 and U17 levels. This bodes well for Ibragimov’s hopes of pushing for a senior debut this season.
He was joined in impressing by 13-year-old Bassirou Nkoto who continues to impress while playing at a level beyond his years, as he looks to be a serious talent.
Making his debut for the club was summer addition Samuel Lusale who had an instant impact, making two assists in the game.
Also among the goals were Dante Plunkett and Victor Musa.
Such impressive and dominant displays over other U17 sides truly bode well for United’s collection of wonderkids going forward.
Amir Ibragimov is having a statement season
Despite several standout performers, the past few weeks have belonged to Ibragimov as he has been demonstrating exactly why fans hold him in such high regard.
Ibragimov struggled through the 2023/24 season with injuries and because of this, his stock dropped with other academy players stepping up.
Before the Community Shield, Ibragimov was in first-team training – which shows how highly he is thought of by the club.
The 16-year-old ranks highly among other talents in the United academy, and the way this season has started, he could end the campaign as the undisputed top talent and knocking on the door for a debut.
The next task for Ibragimov will be to replicate his dominance at U18 level, and then following this we can begin to look at when he will inevitably be introduced to Old Trafford.
