Manchester United’s academy is on fire right now, with Amir Ibragimov among those in red-hot form.
Carrington currently boasts several exceptional talents who are emerging through the ranks and now Amir Ibragimov is pushing his name up into these conversations.
So far this season, Gabriele Biancheri has been the undisputed star of the United Academy with nine goals in six games to date across U18 and U21 levels.
Jack Fletcher has also been shining bright for the U21s as he has found some immense goal-scoring form which places him high in the pecking order right now.
Meanwhile, Ethan Ennis has been impressing for the U21s as well, including a goal and an assist against Doncaster.
Amir Ibragimov scores hattrick vs Liverpool
On Wednesday night, as the senior side were busy drawing 1-1 with Twente at Old Trafford, the U17 side completed a miraculous comeback against Liverpool.
From 2-0 down, the U17 side from United sparked an insane comeback, winning 5-2 at the end in the Premier League Cup.
Ibragimov starred in the game for United, scoring a hattrick in the process.
Ibragimov’s hattrick follows on from his pair of assists against Middlesbrough last weekend in a 4-0 win for the U18s.
Bendito Mantato also scored, his second in two games – while 13-year-old Douka Nkoto was amongst the goals as well.
For United, these three are among the most exciting talents in their respective age groups and to see them shining here is a huge positive on a night when the first-team struggled.
Ibragimov is targeting Man Utd debut
Ibragimov now has six goal contributions in his last three games for United at both U18 and U17 levels – a tally which answers a lot of questions we had about the 16-year-old before the season started.
Last season Ibragimov was plagued by injury which had many concerned he wouldn’t reach his boundless potential, however this season he has started in a manner which has reminded everyone why he is so highly rated.
With this kind of form, Ibragimov could soon find himself pushing for U21 football and possibly even senior football – with Ibragimov reportedly targeting his debut this season.
Ibragimov is among United’s top academy players – although he has the ability to be the most exciting of all.
