Manchester United’s U16 side are into the Super Cup NI Globe final, with two brothers stealing the show.
The Super Cup NI tournament is always a fun watch, with the superstars of tomorrow on show, and as expected, Manchester United have went far in the academy competition.
Donning the new blue away kit, the Carrington outfit won 5-0 in the semi final against Hamilton and now have a final date against Londonderry.
The U16s have been impressive, here’s what happened in the game and who caught the eye this time, after Bendito Mantato previously stole the show.

Twin wonderkids star for Manchester United in Super Cup NI
Thursday evening saw United’s U16s in action at the Super Cup NI, in the first knockout stage after coming second in the group stage.
Facing off against Hamilton Academical, United were unchallenged, winning 5-0 in the boys premier semi final.
In the game it was midfielder Douka Nkoto who opened the scoring in the 26th minute for United, with his second of the tournament. Noah Ajayi made It 2-0, just three minutes later.
Junior Brown made it 3-0 for United U16’s, with Douka’s excellent dribbling creating the goal.
Douka’s twin brother Bassirou Nkoto then made it 4-0 in the 58th minute thanks to a really good goal, like his brother this was his second of the tournament too.
The rout was completed by Godwill Kukonki, making it 5-0 to the Red Devils at full-time. Beating Hamilton in the semi-final sees the club now in the Super Cup NI Globe final against Londonderry.
Having twins look so talented – albeit at just 13 – is an exciting thing, and also something United have history in.
Other twins to play for Manchester United
The Nkoto twins could go on the feature for Manchester United in the future and if they do, they would be following in the footsteps of the Da Silva twins – Rafael and Fabio.
Right now, there are another set of twins at the club in the form of Darren Fletcher’s sons, Jack and Tyler. Jack Fletcher is currently with the first team in Los Angeles on tour despite being just 17.
While not being twins, the most famous brothers to don the Red of United are the Neville’s, Gary and Phil. Gary Neville went on to become a club legend, while Phil Neville is thought of well at the club and enjoyed a solid career at Everton.
It’s a feel good story to see twins playing so well together and we can only imagine how proud the Nkoto family are of the duo. Let’s hope they can lift the trophy on Friday.
