Manchester United are not short of exciting young attacking players and Malachi Sharpe is one to watch.

Sharpe made his international youth debut this week and is celebrating getting on the scoresheet.

The teenager was making his debut for Scotland’s under-17s side in a European Championship qualifying match against Northern Ireland.

Sharpe scored one of the goals as Scotland won the game 3-2.

Sharpe was one of three players Manchester United signed from Derby County’s academy earlier in 2021.

Initially he went into the under-16s and was promoted to the under-18s in the summer, where he has three league appearances.

The young winger has been on the scoresheet once for United, netting in the Premier League Cup win over Birmingham City.

Sharpe is still only 15, and so it shows his talent that he is already playing under-18s football for United and under-17s for Scotland.

Manchester United had a second youngster lining up alongside Sharpe in Scotland’s under-17s win.

United under-16s captain Jack Kingdon started the victory and was delighted to be involved.

Like Sharpe, Kingdon was a recruit to United’s academy last season, joining from Morecambe.

The young centre-back made his under-18s debut last season, and while he is back with the under-16s for now, he has one appearance for the 18s this season too.

He also is just 15 and is a very highly rated young prospect, who United hope will one day go onto feature at first team level.
