Manchester United U18s will look to maintain the 100 per cent U18 Premier League record this season when facing Leeds.
After a treble-winning campaign for Adam Lawrence and his brilliant youngsters last season, this season has started off in similar fashion as Manchester United’s U18 side look unbeatable.
Seven U18 Premier League games and seven wins have the Red Devils academy side sitting top of the league on 21 points.
Last time out, it was a first start for Chido Obi-Martin and he did not disappoint, scoring a hat-trick in the 6-0 thrashing of Nottingham Forest.

Amir Ibragimov was also in form, continuing his hot streak – and will hope to do the same against Leeds.

Leeds 0-8 Manchester United (Scanlon x3, Mantato, Musa, Ibragimov x3)
Man of the Match
Choosing just one of Scanlon and Ibragimov is almost impossible – but we’d have to say it goes to Ibragimov as the 16-year-old really ran the show for much of the game, alongside his hat-trick.

It’s all over – but it had been for around an hour – and it’s United who walk out convincing winners here. Eight games, eight wins and Adam Lawrence deserves a lot of praise.

And it’s now Scanlon who has gotten his hat-trick! What a day for these two. Obi-Martin provided the assist.

Ibragimov again! He gets his hat-trick with Samuel Lusale’s cross finding him at the back post. He pulls out the Obi-Martin celebration afterwards.
[Link]Obi-Martin comes close
From a distance, Obi-Martin almost scores a worldie as it skimmed the cross-bar. He’s on a mission to score today.
[Link]Manchester United 6-0
Amir Ibragimov nabs the sixth for United, finishing off Chido Obi-Martin’s excellent move – much to Obi-Martin’s annoyance as he thought his shot was going in.
[Link]Big save!
Cameron Byrne-Hughes does really well from a one-on-one situation to keep Leeds from scoring.

ON: James Bailey, Chido Obi-Martin and Samuel Lusale
OFF: Jim Thwaites, Victor Musa and Bendito Mantato
[Link]5-0 Manchester United
James Scanlon makes it five with an excellent finish into the far top corner. His second of the game – this could end up looking like a cricket scoreline.
[Link]Half-time
It’s half-time and Manchester United take a 4-0 lead into the break. Utterly dominant, and to think Chido Obi-Martin is still to come on.
[Link]4-0 Manchester United
Amir Ibragimov cannot stop scoring as he rises highest to meet Jim Thwaites’s corner. Game over.
[Link]3-0 Manchester United
Victor Musa converts the penalty, making it 3-0 in the process. He rolled it into the bottom corner calmly. We have another rout on our hands.
[Link]2-0 Manchester United
Bendito Mantato makes it 2-0! The dangerman taps it in at the back post ahead of the Leeds defenders.
[Link]Man Utd U21s also in action
Meanwhile, further north the U21s are drawing 1-1 with Sunderland, thanks to a Jack Fletcher goal.
The bench also features Sekou Kone for the very first time.
[Link]1-0 Manchester United
An inswinging Bendito Mantato corner was punched poorly by the Leeds goalkeeper before James Scanlon managed to aim a volley into the bottom corner. 1-0 United.
[Link]Mantato causing problems
Every time Bendito Mantato gets the ball, he beats his defender with ease. Definitely the dangerman thus far.
[Link]Great start for United
Within seconds of the whistleblowing, Bendito Mantato has already caused problems for the Leeds defence.
James Scanlon has also had an effort which looked goal-bound. Exciting start.
[Link]Shea Lacey absence a question mark
Another absence which will raise questions is that of Shea Lacey with the 17-year-old potentially with the U21s who kick off at the exact same time. We will have to hope that this is not injury-related.
[Link]Chido Obi-Martin only makes the bench
After his hat-trick last weekend in his very first start, Chido Obi-Martin only makes the bench today with Victor Musa starting up top.
This is likely because he started in the U21 game midweek against PSV – in which he was upstaged by Gabriele Biancheri.
