Manchester United have agreed for another young talent to head out on loan.

Goalkeeper Tom Wooster has departed the Red Devils on loan to gain more experience at a competitive level.

Wooster, 19, has signed for National League North side Farsley Athletic, with the club confirming the deal.

Farsley Athletic wasted no time at all giving new signing Tom Wooster a chance, selecting him as their starter in their league opener.

The club play in a division two tiers below League Two, and they got off to a winning start with a 3-2 victory over Rushall Olympic.

Wooster had spent time with Farsley Athletic during pre-season and featured in friendly matches before his loan was confirmed over the weekend.

After running the rule over numerous options, the club announced they believe Wooster is the ‘right fit’ for them.

The club’s announcement states report Wooster “has impressed both on and off the field,” and thanked Manchester United for getting the loan deal done.

Tom Wooster’s third loan

The move to Farsley Athletic is the third non-league loan move of Tom Wooster’s career as he picks up valuable experience.

The 19-year-old had previous shorter loan spells with Ramsbottom United and Macclesfield Town, the latter of which came in the second half of last season.

United signed Wooster from Barnsley when he was 16, and he was on the bench for the FA Youth Cup Final in 2022. He signed a professional contract with United months later.

Wooster was part of United’s travelling squad a year ago for the pre-season friendly with Athletic Bilbao in Northern Ireland.
