Manchester United are looking to give two academy stars some first-team experience in the second half of the season.
That experience, however, won’t be at Old Trafford. Instead, the January transfer window opening means Manchester United can explore loan deals for some of their younger players.
It has been an excellent start to the season for United’s academy sides, with the Under-18s boasting a perfect 100 percent record in their league table.
Ruben Amorim is expecting a quiet January for Manchester United so the Portuguese head coach could dip into the youth options available to him at Carrington.
For some, the pathway is clear. Chido Obi could make his senior debut soon while Godwill Kukonki has impressed Amorim. For others, a loan away in January looks likely.

Man United wonderkid James Scanlon attracting loan interest
One youngster who has impressed in the academy this season is 18-year-old James Scanlon.
Scanlon is one of the best in the Under-18s and has enjoyed a superb 2024. He has been in fine form this season and has already scored 12 goals in 13 appearances.
That includes a hat-trick against Leeds United and four goals against Nottingham Forest’s Under-18s.
According to the Daily Mail, Scanlon is attracting loan interest from several Championship clubs this January.
It is said that both United and the player have agreed that a loan deal is sensible provided it is a natural fit for the player.
The report adds that Harry Amass is also attracting loan interest, despite Amorim wanting a new left wing-back to be signed this month.
James Scanlon could join Ruud van Nistelrooy
Scanlon is viewed as one of the most promising young talents at United so if he does go out on loan staff will want to make sure he is promised game time.
The report from above claims Championship clubs are showing interest in the Gibraltar international, but another option could be a reunion with United legend Ruud van Nistelrooy.
Reports this week claim Leicester City have reached out about loans with Van Nistelrooy eager to use his network to improve his squad at the King Power Stadium.
Since then, Van Nistelrooy has confirmed he is exploring former clubs for loan opportunities. Even after leaving as interim manager in November, Van Nistelrooy could give United a helping hand by providing first-team opportunities for the likes of Scanlon.
