Highly rated Man Utd youngster signs new contract after impressing Ruben Amorim, Gabriele Biancheri and Shea Lacey react

Manchester United have secured the future of several young talents this summer, and now another professional deal has been handed out.

While the first team is the priority this summer, as usual, the academy is also being heavily focused on by Manchester United.

Ineos have committed to investing in the academy, and this summer is no different. United handed Jayden Ngwashi his first professional contract, with the centre-back widely assumed as one of the best in the country right now.

While United also tied JJ Gabriel down until he turns 16 at least, amid consistent rumours around his future being elsewhere.

Now, another youngster has announced that he has committed his future to Old Trafford, one year after joining the club.

James Overy signs new Manchester United contract

As part of the first summer influx of youngsters under Ineos, United welcomed James Overy to the club after he departed Perth Glory to move with his family to England.

Overy was tipped as one of football’s best talents born in 2007 when he arrived, but his start to life at United was slow, due to injury problems.

This meant Overy’s United career only started in February, and he was impressive from then until the end of the season.

As a result of his talent, Overy earned a first-team training call-up under Amorim back in May, having clearly impressed the head coach. Now he’s announced that he has signed a new contract.

Posting on Instagram, Overy wrote, “Proud to have signed my first professional contract at this amazing club. Hard work doesn’t stop!”

Overy’s teammates were responding in the comments.

Shea Lacey and Gabriele Biancheri respond to James Overy

Overy is a popular figure among his teammates, and this is clear with the amount of support that has been heaped onto him after he announced his new contract.

Gabriele Biancheri was one to react as he wrote: “Yes mate”, followed by a fire emoji.

Shea Lacey also reacted with some clapping emojis. While Chido Obi commented with a heart emoji.

Ethan Wheatley wrote: “Ayyyy let’s go”. This was followed by Jacob Devaney, who added: “Yes, lad”, with a heart.

Godwill Kukonki commented: “My guyyyy”, with a heart, and Amir Ibragimov wrote the same thing.
