Chido Obi put in a starring display for Manchester United’s U18s on Wednesday night as the FA Youth Cup campaign began.

On a wet and windy night in Manchester, it was Adam Lawrence’s showtime Red Devils who blew Coventry away.

Manchester United U18s beat Coventry 5-0 at the Leigh Sports Village to progress to the next round where Preston awaits.

The U18s could have scored double this tally though, with Gabriele Biancheri scoring three on the night for his hat-trick.

Chido Obi got himself a brace, impressing United fans with his impressive ability in front of goal.

Now, it appears there was one very special spectator in the crowd.

Nimfasha Berchimas pictured with Chido Obi after FA Youth Cup win

As the Manchester United U18s smashed Coventry, 16-year-old United trialist Nimfasha Berchimas was at the stadium taking in the performance.

The USA U19 international posted on his Instagram story after the game as he posed alongside Chido.

Berchimas captioned the photo with, “@chidoobi.martin my bro”, followed by a heart emoji. This indicates the two are close and may be dreaming of linking up together. We would certainly like to see this attacking duo.

As United still await a decision from Berchimas on where he will look to sign permanently, we cannot help but feel watching a 5-0 FA Youth Cup thrashing will have helped United’s case.

Manchester United are surely convincing Berchimas

Berchimas is seen among the very best youngsters breaking through across the pond and therefore it is no shock Ineos are looking to snap him up.

United are leading Chelsea in the race for the 16-year-old winger, and during the American’s trial, the red carpet has been well and truly rolled out.

Berchimas has been given a tour of Old Trafford and has now been able to see the impressive U18 side in action, along with meeting the star players – and we imagine Lawrence himself.

All of this is not just done for any youth player, proving how special a talent he is. Surely this is convincing Berchimas to choose United as his club to make the leap to Europe.
