Manchester United forward Matheus Cunha, who is in his debut season at Old Trafford, made his debut for the Brazil national team in 2021 under manager Tite.
Cunha has been capped 21 times for Brazil and the 26-year-old former Wolves ace has netted once and registered two assists for his country since his senior debut.
However, United’s 2025 summer signing has not represented Brazil at either the Copa America tournament or the World Cup competition in his career so far.
Cunha took to Instagram and sent a message to Manchester United fans that he had finally completed his “dream” of heading to a World Cup tournament with Brazil.
“On God, 22 was so hard and I didn’t even understand it,” he wrote, as per a rough translation from Portuguese to English.
“Today I am so accomplished with everything God has given me that I can’t thank you enough for all the moments of learning and growth.
“I AM GOING TO REALIZE MY BIGGEST DREAM [sic].”
