Manchester United have focused on signing top young talents under Ineos and Dan Ashworth appears to have a target in mind for 2025.

Ineos have just completed their first summer transfer window at Manchester United and can be pleased with how business materialised.

United completed five first-team signings as Joshua Zirkzee, Leny Yoro, Matthijs de Ligt, Noussair Mazraoui and Manuel Ugarte all arrived.

That wasn’t the only business though as United also moved to bring in some promising youngsters for the future.

United snapped up four teenage talents as Sekou Kone, Chido Obi-Martin, Samuel Lusale and James Overy signed on the dotted line.

Excitement around Obi-Martin is particularly high after his goalscoring exploits at Arsenal and United are now looking to add more prospects for the future.

Dan Ashworth wants Premier League talent at Manchester United

Reports this week suggested that United are keen on Ayr United’s Dylan Watret with Arsenal already interested.

Another name is now in the mix with Southampton’s Tyler Dibling thought to be a United target.

Give Me Sport claim that United could make a move for Dibling with Dan Ashworth leading the interest.

Ashworth allegedly tried to bring Dibling to Newcastle United and remains a fan of the winger.

Southampton are pushing to give Dibling a new contract but United may look to launch a move in 2025.

Newcastle remain keen despite Ashworth’s departure whilst Crystal Palace and Stuttgart are also interested.

Dibling is under contract until 2026 and whilst Southampton can activate another year on top, they want to give him fresh terms.

That could fend United off in the short term, but Dibling is one to keep tabs on for the future.

It’s also worth noting that Jason Wilcox, United’s technical director, will know Dibling well.

Wilcox left Southampton for United earlier this year and will have seen plenty of Dibling from his time on the South Coast.

Who is United target Tyler Dibling?

Dibling hails from Exeter and has bounced around clubs in the early stage of his career.

The 18-year-old started out with Southampton, moved to hometown club Exeter City before returning to Southampton just a year later.

Dibling moved to Chelsea in 2022 but failed to settle and quickly returned to Southampton.

After making his first-team debut in the Championship last season, Dibling has featured in the Premier League this term and has even made his first start against United last weekend.

Dibling was a constant threat and even won a penalty having bamboozled Diogo Dalot down the right flank.

Southampton teammate Yukinari Sugawara has praised Dibling as a ‘top player already’ whilst speaking to the Daily Echo.

United will surely have been impressed with Dibling last weekend and with Ashworth a long-term admirer, interest in 2025 would be no surprise.
