Transfer chief hints Ineos connection could help him sign Manchester United prospects

Manchester United are looking for progress in year two under Ineos with Sir Jim Ratcliffe seeking an improved 2025.

2024 was a mostly disappointing year for Manchester United.

Ineos arriving left fans believing in an almost instant change at Old Trafford.

That hasn’t really been the case though with United’s FA Cup win back in May the major highlight.

Erik ten Hag was sacked just months after being backed whilst Dan Ashworth’s exit raised question marks about the Ineos plans.

Sir Jim Ratcliffe hasn’t exactly made himself popular with many United fans either with some off-field decisions causing some uproar.

Ratcliffe added United to his sporting portfolio, joining two other football clubs.

Ineos also own French side OGC Nice and Swiss outfit Lausanne-Sport, with United by far the biggest club in the group.

Nice have been up and down of late but Lausanne-Sport have been enjoying a strong season so far.

Lausanne-Sport sit third in the Swiss Super League table, just one point behind league leaders Lugano.

United may be the focus for Ineos but Lausanne-Sport deserve attention too as they shine under Ludovic Magnin.

Lausanne-Sport sporting director Stephane Henchoz – the former Liverpool defender – has now spoken about the link-up with United.

Henchoz has told Blick, as translated by Sport Witness, that he hopes to see United talents joining Lausanne-Sport in the future.

Henchoz feels that United can really benefit from such an agreement and highlighted that three United talents recently trained with the Swiss side.

“I hope so. The English can also benefit,” said Henchoz.

“Three talented Red Devils players trained with us for a week, accompanied by a delegation from Manchester. They were positively surprised by our work. In any case, Lausanne can be an option for Manchester United players who still need to mature,” he added.

Which United talents trained with Lausanne-Sport?

United are always looking to send top young talents out on loan.

Ethan Ennis joined Doncaster Rovers last week and more could follow in this January transfer window.

Reports suggest that United could loan out four youngsters; Harry Amass, Dan Gore, Ethan Wheatley and Ethan Williams.

Lausanne-Sport may be watching on with interest and Williams was actually one of the players Henchoz mentioned.

Williams, Habeeb Ogunneye and Jack Kingdon trained with Lausanne-Sport and will no doubt remain on Henchoz’s radar.

United will be weighing up many different loan moves this month and a deal with Lausanne-Sport would not be a huge surprise.
