Andre Onana had a strong loan spell in Turkey for Trabzonspor this season, looking more like the goalkeeper Manchester United thought they were signing.
After his struggles in a Manchester United shirt, Andre Onana has refound himself at Trabzonspor in the Turkish Super Lig.
Onana has had some superb moments for the Trabzon-based side, which has seen him quickly become a favourite between the sticks, pushing the club into targeting a return.
Trabzonspor’s club president has pleaded for Onana to join, in between his jibes at United’s £20m demands, which he deems too expensive. But now it seems he’s confident a deal is close.

United need around £20m to avoid a PSR loss on Onana this summer, while there have been talks of another loan to prevent the Cameroonian returning to Carrington.
Now, speaking to Hurriyet Spor in Turkey, Ertugrul Dogan has discussed what he is currently thinking about signing Andre Onana, expressing confidence.
“As we said, we’re trying to act quickly. We’re adding these players to our squad one by one. Transfers will continue in the coming days. We were thinking of 5-6 transfers, but it looks like we’ll go to a higher number.
“We speak with Andre Onana almost every day. He loves it here. We want him to stay, but of course, everyone has their own life and plans. We have to respect that.
“I don’t think we’ll have any problems in the coming days. But if we do, the management will do what’s necessary. We’ll find another goalkeeper of the same quality.”
Whether this is permanent or another loan is yet to be revealed.

Manchester United will need to sign a goalkeeper this summer
With Onana now looking likely to leave, it will potentially mean United are left with just Senne Lammens and Tom Heaton.
Altay Bayindir’s exit from United feels inevitable, creating a gap in the number two goalkeeper role next season.
Despite his evident quality, Radek Vitek is now expected to be sold, and therefore, United are likely to need another addition.
Andy Mitten claimed an experienced goalkeeper was on the summer shortlist.
Who this could be is currently unknown, but it should ideally be a homegrown option for the club to use in squad registration.
So it won’t only be the midfield undergoing a revamp this summer.
