As we await Manuel Ugarte’s announcement, Manchester United have another player undergoing a medical.
With the academy at Manchester United currently on a hot streak, Ineos are keen to keep improving their options.
Having already arranged the additions of both Samuel Lusale and Chido Obi-Martin, now Manchester United are set to complete the signing of Sekou Kone for a bargain fee of just £1.25 million.
The Malian midfielder was reported to have agreed to the move last week, and now the 18-year-old is set for his medical with the move close to being finalised.
Sekou Kone undergoes medical
The signing of Kone has been lauded as a ‘great transfer’, with his performances during the U17 World Cup last year proving why United will have wanted to sign him.
The move adds to an already golden group of prospects at Carrington, with it completing a new teenage spine for United which could have the club sorted for the next 15 years.

Now, according to Christopher Michel, a deal can be expected to be fully finalised before Friday’s transfer deadline.
Kone is reported to be undergoing his medical as we speak ahead of Manchester United finalising the deal which is expected today [Thursday, August 29th].
Kone arrived in Manchester on Wednesday night and chances are he will soon be a name on the teamsheet for the U21s – perhaps even as early as this Friday if all goes to plan.
This has also been reported by Fabrizio Romano.
Kone is a very exciting addition for United having been likened to Michael Essien, beating some of Europe’s elite to complete the addition shows he is excellent.

Manchester United will have a plan
Signing such a talented midfield talent ahead of other clubs means United will have presented Kone with the best plan for his development.
It is believed that he will initially be played in the U21 side, while he adapts to living in England and the club analyse what level he is at.
However, he is seen as a talent who is already close to being first-team ready and therefore we expect to see him in training with Erik ten Hag’s senior players.
Aside from this, we imagine there is a plan to integrate him slowly, with a debut this season. He could be joined in getting a debut by other wonderkids, with Amir Ibragimov targeting his own debut, and Shea Lacey being considered by many to be ready.
Now, we just wait for his announcement, which we expect will come within hours.
