Manchester United have two priorities this month with Ruben Amorim’s dream signing being a quick fix to one.

For Ruben Amorim, one growing concern within his team will be whether he can rely on his striking options.

Manchester United have invested heavily on strikers, spending around £100m over the past few summers, but yet Joshua Zirkzee and Rasmus Hojlund have scored just five league goals combined.

Zirkzee has been heavily linked with a premature exit – as Juventus circle for the Dutchman who was booed off at Old Trafford last week.

Meanwhile, Hojlund has been a disaster lately with his performance against Liverpool being the worst of a bad bunch.

Due to this, Amorim needs a new striker.

Ruben Amorim makes Victor Osimhen his priority signing

In order to strengthen up front, United have several options such as Viktor Gyokeres, who is an interesting option as he continues to prove he’s the world’s best right now.

Another name linked is Napoli’s Victor Osimhen who United are keen on as Marcus Rashford looks set to leave.

Now, according to a report from GiveMeSport, Amorim has identified Osimhen as his dream signing to bolster his options up front.

However, there is a drawback – with United far from ready to make a permanent move for Osimhen which means it may have to wait until the summer.

United face an uphill battle – but with a few big sales, we wouldn’t rule it out.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer also wanted Osimhen at Manchester United

While Erik ten Hag got handed two exciting young strikers, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer was not so lucky as he had to make do with Edinson Cavani, Anthony Martial and Cristiano Ronaldo.

However, in 2020 Ole reportedly highlighted Osimhen as his first-choice striker according to the Metro – a move which in hindsight would have been excellent.

Back then Osimhen was showing promise, and now he is a bonafide goal machine, boasting the kind of ability up top which could be huge for United.

Signing a striker like Osimhen would be a real game-changer for United and for that reason must be completed if it is Amorim’s desire.
