Other targets have been linked in recent times, with Ajax talent Abdellah Ouazane wanted by United.
16-year-old Ouazane has impressed in the Ajax ranks and United may hope to lure the midfielder to Old Trafford.
The problem is that a major force have joined the race for Ouazane, with Fabrizio Romano reporting Real Madrid’s interest.
Romano claims that Real have held ‘initial talks’ over a move for Ouazane, but no deal is in place just yet.
United still have a chance to land Ouazane, but a transfer battle with Real Madrid is never particularly appealing.
The Spanish giants are a powerhouse in the transfer market and when Real set their sights on a player, it’s difficult to beat them.

Ouazane doesn’t turn 18 until January 2027, meaning United would face quite the wait.
United could attempt to tee up a deal this summer and simply wait 18 months for Ouazane to arrive.
Ouazane may prefer to head to Madrid straight away, though, with Real’s interest leaving United in a tricky position.
The teenager will field offers and consider the best step for his career, but United may need a real charm offensive to tempt him into snubbing Real.
