The transfer window has only just closed and yet already one Manchester United player could be on the wishlist elsewhere.
The start of this season has made the status of Antony crystal clear at Old Trafford.
He has been handed just one minute of action so far this campaign for Manchester United through four games, which leaves Antony’s promise of goals and assists looking far-fetched.
Antony has tumbled down the pecking order for United, with Erik ten Hag now quite obviously seeing him as the fourth choice on the wings with Amad Diallo, Alejandro Garnacho and Marcus Rashford all ahead of him.
Now, reports are suggesting he could be sold and to an unlikely destination at that.

Newcastle considering Antony
The future of Antony has been unclear for quite some time now with the player believed to be keen on staying but if Ineos had their way – he would have been sold over the summer.
There have been links with Galatasaray, although Antony was not keen on this move away from United, possibly thinking himself above the Super Lig.
Now, according to Caught Offside, Eddie Howe and Newcastle are also considering making a move for Antony with the January transfer window offering an opportunity to make their move.
It is indicated that United would be open to the idea of selling Antony for just £40m – a figure well below the £82m Antony cost United two summers ago.
Howe is believed to appreciate Antony’s skills and believes that he would be an excellent addition to his squad at St. James’ Park.
Manchester United will cut losses
Antony’s move to Old Trafford from Ajax in 2022 has categorically been a failure so far with 11 goals scored in his career at the club so far.
The Brazilian is a player fans groan at when his number is called, which shows just how frustrating he is to watch play football.
The club have also grown tired, with Ten Hag losing faith in the player he specifically requested be signed from Ajax.
Due to this, the club now would likely be thrilled with the chance to recoup even half the outlay spent on signing the latest Brazilian to flop at Old Trafford.
