Gilberto Mora is among the talented teenagers across the globe to be linked with a move to Manchester United before signing new terms with Club Tijuana.

The 2026 World Cup is just hours away from kicking off in the US, Canada and Mexico.

Manchester United fans will be paying close attention to their own players as they represent their countries, but there will also be an eye on potential transfer targets.

Moreover, Ederson is going to the World Cup after United reached an agreement with Atalanta for the Brazilian midfielder, so that’s another player to keep an eye on.

Man Utd-linked Gilberto Mora commits future to Club Tijuana

Back in September 2025, Gilberto Mora emerged on United’s radar as a potential target.

A month later, United and Barcelona were leading the race for Mora’s signature.

Now, however, it has been made potentially trickier for United to sign the youngster because he has agreed a new three-year deal with Club Tijuana.

According to Ben Jacobs, the talented midfielder will wear the No. 10 shirt after signing the new deal.

The journalist also notes that Mora’s new deal contains a release clause.

United and Barcelona will be keen to find out how much that release clause is and when it will become active, as well as expire.

Mexico will start the World Cup with the first game of the tournament against South Africa.

Javier Hernandez remains the only Mexican to sign for Man Utd

Ahead of the 2010 World Cup, United signed Javier Hernandez from Chivas for £6 million.

Hernandez remains the only Mexican to ever play for United.

Mora isn’t the only young Mexican who may be of interest to United at the World Cup.

Young striker Armando Gonzalez is another player who many will be watching if he gets a chance at the World Cup.
