Manchester United will surely already be drawing up a list of potential summer signings with Sir Jim Ratcliffe and co looking to get the club back to its best.
It’s a really hectic time at Old Trafford at the moment, but in the best possible way. Ratcliffe is putting all the foundations in place now so United can have a successful window in the summer, which involves some impending hires like Dan Ashworth.
Once the full team has been assembled – then it’ll be time to look at potential players for the first-team squad. Exciting times.
It appears there are a few names in the running already.

Fabrizio Romano on Manchester United’s summer transfer business
Ever reliable transfer guru Fabrizio Romano took to his YouTube channel on Saturday to discuss the upcoming window for United, and some potential names and positions on their list.
“Many stories in terms of signings for Manchester United, every day we keep hearing many names,” Romano begins.
“It’s very simple though, Manchester United will have a very clear structure preparing for the summer transfer window. All the names you will see can probably be scouted maybe considered by Manchester United, but nothing is concrete.
“We heard about [Joshua] Zirkzee we heard about many others, but these are players that Manchester United could be following. For example, [Jean-Clair] Todibo is a player they’ve been following for a long time, but before entering into a concrete summer transfer list, it’s early at the moment.
“So Mathys Tel is one of the talents linked with Manchester United, but at the moment, nothing is concrete in terms of contacts or discussions.”
What position will Manchester United be after in the summer?
So a few names are floating about, in all different positions, but according to Romano, United ‘will sign’ a striker in the summer.
“In terms of negotiations, Manchester United will sign a new striker in the summer,” he continues.
“But they still have to decide, this is the crucial point with the new directors what kind of player they want to sign. Do they want an experienced striker or a young striker?”
“They already have a young striker in Rasmus Hojlund who’s performing well now, huge potential United invested big money on him. So they still have to decide whether they’ll sign another young striker or an experienced striker.”
The sensible option now does seem to go for an experienced one to take some pressure off Hojlund. Saying that, pressure is evidently making diamonds at the moment.
Hojlund is in rich form, so in terms of longevity, would it make more sense to bring in a young, hungry striker to compete with him?
it’s a tough one – but it’ll ultimately be Ten Hag’s call.
