Manchester United continue to search for top young talent and could make one wonderkid’s dream come true with a move to Old Trafford.
Ineos were certainly busy over the summer and attempted to bolster Erik ten Hag’s first-team squad at Manchester United.
The results so far are pretty mixed – and that is being kind.
Sir Jim Ratcliffe and co will be under no illusions though as this will be a long-term rebuild at Old Trafford.
That was clear as United invested in young talents for the future – and not just by signing Lille defender Leny Yoro.
James Overy, Samuel Lusale, Sekou Kone and Chido Obi-Martin all arrived with United hoping to see them become stars.

Manchester United want Geovany Quenda
Another wonderkid is now on the United wish list and this may be somewhere between Yoro and those academy prospects.
The Sunday Mirror (27/10, p66) report that United are battling it out with Manchester City for the signing of Sporting’s Geovany Quenda.
It’s stated that both clubs have scouted Quenda on ‘multiple’ occasions ahead of a potential move.
Quenda has a release clause worth €100million (£83million) in his contract but any deal would surely be much cheaper.
Winger Quenda has already played 14 first-team games for Sporting, backing two goals and one assist in the process.
The 17-year-old is considered to be a top prospect for the future and it’s stated that Quenda ‘dreams of playing in the Premier League’.
United can make those dreams come true and allow Quenda to follow in the footsteps of Cristiano Ronaldo and Bruno Fernandes.
United history with Sporting should attract Quenda
Beating City in this transfer race won’t be easy but United can at least sell Quenda on the dream that he can become like Ronaldo or Fernandes.
Both players became superstars after joining United from Sporting with Ronaldo going on to become one of the greatest players of all time.
Fernandes is now United captain and the absolute heartbeat of the team, so the path from Lisbon to Old Trafford has been a successful one.
It would also be remiss of us to not mention Nani – now playing for hometown club Estrela Amadora – who also became a United star after leaving Sporting.
Quenda is only 17 but has the world at his feet and the chance to follow in the footsteps of Ronaldo and Fernandes should appeal to the teenager if United do make a firm move.
