Manchester United are weighing up loan moves for talented youngsters this summer, with Toby Collyer potentially next to go.

Manchester United’s pre-season campaign continues this week as Ruben Amorim’s side take on Bournemouth in Chicago.

United beat West Ham United over the weekend, kicking off the Premier League Summer Series with a victory.

Amorim is studying every player closely, forming opinions on who will stay and who could be made available.

Youngsters are looking to impress, but may be moved out on loan in order to play first-team action away from Old Trafford.

Radek Vitek has joined Bristol City on loan, and we could soon see midfielder Toby Collyer follow him out of the club.

Toby Collyer could leave Manchester United on loan

Collyer came off the bench against West Ham over the weekend, playing around 25 minutes in United’s victory.

The 21-year-old showed some potential last season, but saw injuries ruin his chances of regular first-team action.

Collyer has been praised by Tim Howard, with the former United goalkeeper confident that he can become a United player for years to come.

A loan move could really help Collyer, though, as he really needs regular first-team action at this stage in his development.

Collyer has now told BBC Sport that his ultimate goal is to become a fixture of the United first team, ideally starting week in and week out.

However, the midfielder is planning to meet with Amorim to discuss a potential loan move this summer, with Collyer keen to learn about his first-team prospects.

“The end goal for me is to play as many minutes as possible here, hopefully starting every week,” said Collyer.

“I’ll sit down with the manager and higher-ups and see what’s the best solution for that and the best way for me to develop, whether it’s stay here or go on loan,” he added.

Some may wonder if Collyer could be sold this summer, with the former Brighton and Hove Albion talent turning 22 in January.

Collyer certainly doesn’t want to sit around at United forever, and there will be plenty of clubs who fancy signing him permanently.

However, BBC Sport claim that United have no intention of selling Collyer, and any exit would only be a loan move.

We are certainly on board with that idea, as Collyer has significant potential and could be a valuable player for the future.

Championship clubs and even some Premier League sides are surely calling United for information on Collyer, with the England youth international surely a man in demand after his comments about a loan move.
