Manchester United are growing ever closer to completing signing number three of this summer transfer window.
The attacking line-up of Manchester United’s starting trio has undergone a facelift this summer, with £127.5m spent on Bryan Mbeumo and Matheus Cunha.
This double move for two of the Premier League’s best attackers will add a lot of goals and creativity, with Cunha in particular already demonstrating his class for the Red Devils during pre-season.
However, United are also now looking to upgrade in the number nine role, with Benjamin Sesko looking increasingly likely to join the club.
Despite Newcastle’s interest, Sesko has chosen United as his next club, with talks ongoing around the fee which will be paid to RB Leipzig, although an agreement is not that far away.
Sesko will be a huge addition for United, but also a huge blow for Liverpool and Newcastle.
Liverpool’s final transfer plan has been hindered by Manchester United
United signing Sesko is extremely exciting, with the Slovenian international offering a far more complete and ready number nine for the club compared with Rasmus Hojlund and others.
Christopher Vivell has already heralded Sesko in the past, telling United fans exactly what to expect from the 22-year-old.
However, aside from signing an excellent player, United will also be happy to have denied Liverpool the chance to complete their summer with Alexander Isak.
Newcastle journalist Craig Hope has tweeted on the situation, revealing Newcastle have now turned attentions to other targets after Sesko made his decision to join United.
This has an impact on Newcastle selling Isak, as the journalist reports that the Swede now won’t be allowed to go to Liverpool, as the Magpies have failed to sign a replacement who they deem to be on his level.
Liverpool will be frustrated by this, having made a British transfer record offer for Isak, but now due to United signing Sesko, the chances of this happening look slim with Newcastle’s £150m demands, as Sky Sports reported, not likely to be matched.
Benjamin Sesko to Manchester United latest
While not yet completed, United’s transfer chase of Sesko feels like it could be concluded at any moment, with the £74m bid very close to RB Leipzig’s demands.
After Sesko choosing United, now it will be down to the Red Devils to agree the fee with Leipzig and there is now work being done to achieve this.
Florian Plettenberg has claimed on Wednesday morning, that United have now bid £69m plus add-ons, which is within touching distance of the bid Newcastle had seen accepted before Sesko chose the Red Devils.
The deal could be done very quickly now United have won the race, with the transfer fee close to agreement, definitely one to watch this week.
