Manager makes Hannibal Mejbri his priority target, negotiations with Man Utd are advanced

Hannibal Mejbri’s future is undecided at Manchester United this summer, and now it’s been reported he has offers on the table.

For Hannibal Mejbri, the past 12 months will have been both very high and very low at the same time.

Near the beginning of last season, Hannibal looked to have established himself in the Manchester United squad, scoring a wondergoal against Brighton and regularly featuring impressively.

But after a downturn in form, Erik ten Hag lost faith and sent him on loan to Sevilla in a move which didn’t work out at all for Hannibal.

But now, he’s back with the United squad and is in the USA with the 29-man squad on tour, but he’s wanted on loan.

Hannibal Mejbri nears Rangers loan move

After his disappointing six months at Sevilla, it seems Hannibal will be heading straight back out on loan this summer – while there have also been permanent exit rumours.

This comes according to a report from Africa Foot which claims that the Moroccan international has two clubs chasing his signature at the moment.

Copenhagen are one interested party, although the midfielder isn’t keen on a move to the Danish giants.

The second club is Rangers, with the Scottish side asking to take the 21-year-old on a loan after being impressed by his performance during the friendly in Glasgow.

Due to his display, Rangers boss Philippe Clement has put Hannibal as his priority for the club to sign this summer, with negotiations now claimed to be advanced.

For Hannibal, this could be a smart move, although he will wish the deal was done before he flew out to Los Angeles with the United squad, assuming it is as advanced as claims suggest.

How Hannibal played vs Rangers shows he could still have a future at United

Against Rangers, Hannibal played the second half and was among the most impressive players on the pitch.

He completed 100% of his passes as he looked like the most experienced player on the pitch, which he was and is likely what caught Rangers’ eye.

He also completed two dribbles while having 31 touches in total. Defensively though, Hannibal really shone as he won five duels and barely put a foot wrong.

At just 21, it’d be foolish to write Hannibal off and he could be a player who develops later into a talent worthy of Old Trafford where he could fulfil his ‘phenomenal‘ talent and potential.
