Manchester United won’t be signing Elliot Anderson this summer, and now Ineos’ data department has gone and found a clone for a fraction of the price.
After Manchester City saw a £121m bid refused for Elliot Anderson, it became clear he isn’t an option for Manchester United this summer.
United have turned away from Anderson because of both the fee, wages, and also because of a lack of desire to move to Old Trafford.
It is the correct decision to walk away; he isn’t worth close to the silly money City are throwing at him. Now, United intends to prove it through the data department.

Mamadou Sangare could be this summer’s Senne Lammens for Manchester United
After being years behind in the data department, United appointed Michael Sansoni, and the decision has turned out to be club-changing for Ineos.
It has coincided with the huge recruitment improvements seen under Ineos. United’s data team found Senne Lammens, who is the highlight of the transfer business.
Now, Mamadou Sangare has been linked to United, and he certainly appears to be a data-driven signing when compared with the other midfielders linked, being bigger names.
Sangare would cost just £33.5m from Lens, and the player you get for that fee makes him an absolutely brilliant option in midfield.
At 23, Sangare is a player on the up, and one Christopher Vivell will know all about, given the player came through the scouting system he set up.
Interestingly, Sangare is almost a second coming of Anderson.
How would YOU spend Man United’s rumoured £250m transfer budget?💰
Would you go big on the midfield, or should United spread out the budget?
Sangare compared with Elliot Anderson
Anderson is a brilliant midfielder, and missing out on him likely has left United trying to find an alternative who brings similar qualities at a fraction of the fee.
Sangare would be exactly that, as he is almost an ‘Anderson-lite’.
Where Sangare is far superior is in his duel-winning and winning possession back in midfield. While he is close to Anderson in progressive carries, key passes, and forward passing.
He isn’t identical to Anderson, but for almost a quarter of the price, he is an excellent option for Ineos to swoop and sign.
Sangare would make a brilliant Kobbie Mainoo partner, with the intensity, running, and athleticism that have been lacking, which would have been seen in Anderson.
