Manchester United might need to rethink their transfer priorities after the latest Lewis Hall update.
A deal for Lewis Hall was thought to be borderline impossible after Newcastle pocketed about £70m from selling Anthony Gordon to Barcelona.
Even for Man Utd, left-back is not a priority position, so the links to midfield players continued, with Hall in the background.
They might need to bring him to the front after the latest update on his price tag, and it will be completely justified.

Should Man United try sign Newcastle left-back Lewis Hall this summer?
How much is Lewis Hall worth (under contract until 2029)? 🤔
Man Utd learn Lewis Hall price tag
Newcastle would potentially be a nightmare to negotiate with on the best of days, so after selling Gordon, any further sales were a remote possibility.
That is even more true for Man Utd because of Newcastle’s one-sided rivalry with the club.
However, the financial issues at Newcastle might be worse than first thought, and Hall has been curiously out of favour with Eddie Howe.
Both of those factors combine to make Newcastle open to offers for Hall “north of £50m”, as per The Athletic.
Furthermore, Hall knows Christopher Vivell from their shared time at Chelsea, so the player shouldn’t be too difficult to convince for a move to Old Trafford.
That price tag is far lower than Man Utd fans would have anticipated. For context, Man City spent £50m on Kyle Walker from Spurs nearly a decade ago.
For a player like Hall to be available for around £50-60m is great value for money.
Hall situation must force Man Utd plan change
The transfer window is all about planning, but you also need to be on your toes and look for any opportunity to pounce.
How much do you think Man Utd will spend in this window?
It can be revealed that £243m will already be leaving Old Trafford this summer…
That dynamic thinking should see United enter negotiations for Hall as soon as possible, shifting the midfield to second position for a short period of time.
Interestingly, Hall has also played as a midfielder while coming through the ranks at Chelsea, so he makes perfect sense as a capable option in two positions of need at United.
A second midfielder can wait. United need to be all over that Hall deal after that reported price tag.
