It remains to be seen what the January transfer window has in store for Manchester United with speculation ongoing over potential signings and exits.

The winter transfer window is usually a slow burner for Manchester United. No additions were made last year, but seven players departed on loan, including Jadon Sancho and Donny van de Beek.

Ruben Amorim will want to do business in January, which means United will be somewhat active.

Several players have been linked with United, while others have been tipped to leave Old Trafford.

Marcus Rashford admitted he is ready for a new challenge, which has led to links to various clubs including AC Milan, Napoli, and Barcelona. Another player stuck in the headlines is Joshua Zirkzee amid interest from Juventus.

Randal Kolo Muani move not reliant on Marcus Rashford or Joshua Zirkzee

A number of forward players have been linked with joining United, with some having been tracked by the club for years, including Randal Kolo Muani.

United overlooked the French forward in 2023 when Rasmus Hojlund was the preferred option, costing £72 million from Atalanta.

The Paris Saint-Germain striker is now available on loan, as per The Athletic, after attracting interest from Premier League clubs such as United and Tottenham.

The 26-year-old, who emerged on United’s radar during his time at Eintracht Frankfurt, is understood to be one of the forwards identified to help Amorim’s attack.

According to The Telegraph, United’s pursuit to bring in a new attacker is not reliant on Rashford or Zirkzee leaving Old Trafford this month.

The same report states that Rashford’s brother and representative, Dwaine Maynard, arrived in Italy on Tuesday for talks with Milan.

It is understood that Milan are also considered a loan move for Kolo Muani.

Kolo Muani wants more game time

PSG paid £76.4 million for Kolo Muani shortly after Hojlund signed for United and he has struggled to make an impact ever since.

After a forgettable debut campaign, Kolo Muani has just two goals in 14 appearances this season.

Kolo Muani wants regular game time and that is the reason PSG are opening the door for a loan move midway through the season.

If Kolo Muani was to join United for the remainder of the campaign, he’d have to compete with Hojlund and Zirkzee for a place in the team. The competition would be healthy with the ultimate aim being more goals.

United have just 23 goals in 20 Premier League games this term.
