Galatasaray have now prepared a transfer ‘package’ for Manchester United and Uruguay midfielder Manuel Ugarte, according to stunning reports in Turkey.

Manuel Ugarte has struggled to become a regular Manchester United first-team starter since his arrival from French outfit Paris Saint-Germain in 2024.

United paid an initial fee of £42.1m, including agreeing to £8.4m in add-ons, to bring the ex-Paris Saint-Germain midfielder to Old Trafford ahead of the 2024-25 season.

However, Ugarte was unable to become a key player for Erik ten Hag before the former Ajax and United manager was sacked from the Premier League club.

The 24-year-old Uruguayan defensive midfielder had played under United head coach Ruben Amorim at Sporting CP ahead of his move to PSG in 2023.

But a reunion with Ruben Amorim at Old Trafford has not seen Ugarte benefit when it comes to securing more consistent first-team football at the Red Devils.

Ruben Amorim has dropped Bruno Fernandes into the two-man midfield pivot and Casemiro has been his preferred pick to partner alongside the club captain.

Both Manuel Ugarte and Kobbie Mainoo have fallen down the midfield pecking order and have been left fighting for minutes in the 2025-26 Premier League season.

Ugarte could find his opportunities limited even further next summer, with Manchester United tipped to sign a new midfielder at the end of the season.

According to Fotomac, United are ‘reportedly expecting a transfer fee’ that would be in excess of ‘€30 million’ for former Sporting CP and PSG midfielder Ugarte.

However, the Turkish newspaper has reported that Galatasaray are now ‘considering’ a potential ‘€25 million package with a purchase option’ for Ugarte.

Galatasaray are not alone in their transfer interest for Man Utd star Manuel Ugarte

Ugarte is out of contract with United in 2029 and the Red Devils appear willing to let the Uruguay international leave Old Trafford if the right fee is tabled.

Galatasaray have reportedly had rival interest in Ugarte, with French side Lyon and Serie A outfit Napoli linked with the United and Uruguay defensive midfielder as well.

Fotomac has claimed that the Turkish side’s efforts to sign Ugarte will ramp up further by tapping into the United player’s connection to two players.

Former Galatasaray shot-stopper Fernando Muslera and current club midfielder Lucas Torreira have both played alongside Ugarte on the international stage.

Fotomac added that Lucas Torreira and Fernando Muslera have ‘intervened’ in a bid to ‘convince’ the Red Devils’ Ugarte to make the switch to the Istanbul-based club.
