Manchester United’s interest in Jarrod Bowen has been growing over the past couple of weeks, as West Ham’s relegation looks likely.
The Premier League relegation scrap has gone to the final day between West Ham and Tottenham, with major implications for Manchester United’s summer plans.
This is because the Hammers currently have players that United want.
United are interested in Mateus Fernandes first and foremost, with talks already held to sign the midfielder. Additionally, United have been interested in El Hadji Malick Diouf at left-back.
Now, Jarrod Bowen joins the list.

Manchester United would want Jarrod Bowen as a left winger
Despite being the West Ham captain, Jarrod Bowen is way too good for Championship football and will therefore likely jump ship if relegation is confirmed.
United have been plotting a move for Bowen, but don’t have plans for him to play his strongest right-wing position.
This is according to Jacob Steinberg, who has claimed that he has heard United want Bowen instead as a potential left-wing option.
“He’s an absolute legend in the club’s history [West Ham], given everything he’s done. And I think that, you know, I think he would be a really smart signing for quite a few quite a few teams.
“And I was quite surprised when I heard the United interest thing. Some of the reactions online have been people saying, “But we seem like we’re sorted out on the right wing with Mbeumo and Amad Diallo.
“And to be honest, that’s what I said when I heard it, but surprisingly, I was told that United were looking at him potentially as someone who could also slot in on the left side, where you maybe a little bit weaker in terms of options. It’s really only Cunha who can play out there.”

Jarrod Bowen would be an excellent squad depth signing for Manchester United
If United are planning to win the league in the next two seasons, adding players like Bowen for relatively cheap is the perfect way to build a squad capable of winning.
Bowen is only 29, and this season in the Premier League for West Ham, he has eight goals and 10 assists, proving his quality.
Easily, for £40m, Bowen would be a complete bargain to play anywhere across the front three.
In recent seasons, he has also scored 16 and 13 over the 2023/24 and 2024/25 campaigns, respectively.
Bowen from the bench, or starting in cups and after Champions League games, would be excellent depth for United.
