Man Utd ready to launch Jarrod Bowen swoop with West Ham facing relegation

Manchester United are plotting a potential raid on West Ham as they face relegation from the Premier League, with Jarrod Bowen emerging as a potential transfer target.

As things stand, Manchester United are the only team in the Premier League that cannot move up or down the table with one game left to play.

That means United will finish third in the Premier League, a strong enough position to secure Champions League qualification, so they’re expected to use the transfer window to bolster the squad.

United could look to take advantage of the teams that suffer relegation, with targets emerging from West Ham, such as Mateus Fernandes.

West Ham’s relegation threat has Man Utd on alert for Jarrod Bowen

West Ham’s Premier League status hangs in the balance after failing to beat Newcastle.

Nuno Espirito Santo’s side are relying on Chelsea and Everton to beat Tottenham, but they must also beat Leeds on the final day of the season.

One point from Tottenham’s remaining two matches would be enough to send West Ham down due to their insufficient goal difference.

According to Jacob Steinberg of The Guardian, United are among three Premier League clubs interested in West Ham winger Jarrod Bowen if West Ham go down.

The other clubs include Chelsea and Liverpool.

The report adds that West Ham will need to raise more than £100m if relegated from the Premier League.

Bowen has made 41 appearances for West Ham, scoring 10 goals and registering 11 assists across all competitions.

The 29-year-old will hope to be included when Tomas Tuchel names his England squad for the 2026 World Cup.

Bowen has been loyal to West Ham up until this point, and will be seen as a legend after his goal to beat Fiorentina in the Conference League final in 2020, but relegation could force him to reconsider his future.

A player of Bowen’s quality is too good for the Championship. It would be a huge loss for West Ham.

Jarrod Bowen is not the winger Man Utd are crying out for

United are lacking a left winger, but Bowen primarily plays on the right.

The report claims Bowen would help United add quality and depth to the attacking department, which is true, and he’d also go down as a homegrown player.

While there are positives to take from the apparent interest in Bowen, it’s worth noting that United will still need a winger for the left flank.

That’s not to say Bowen wouldn’t be a good signing, as he’s Premier League proven.
