Manchester United are considering a move for West Ham left-back El Hadji Malick Diouf.
One position Manchester United are looking to strengthen in the summer is left-back, although central midfield will take priority.
Luke Shaw has been a mainstay in United’s defence, but at 30, after many battles with injuries, it would be wise to sign a player who can push the England international for a starting role.
United are linked with Alejandro Balde at Barcelona, but the shortlist for left-backs is growing because United will need options to fall back on if they are unable to land their primary targets.

United have been linked with other left-backs in the Premier League as well as Balde.
Arsenal’s Myles Lewis-Skelly is on the shortlist along with Newcastle’s Lewis Hall.
However, Lewis-Skelly and Hall are not the only Premier League left-backs on United’s radar this summer.
The Red Devils are drawing up summer transfer plans while they’re on the verge of securing a spot in the Champions League.
United are in the market for a new left-back as they prepare to lose Tyrell Malacia at the end of his contract.
New reports suggest United could raid Premier League relegation contenders West Ham.
According to The Guardian, El Hadji Malick Diouf has emerged as a target.
Diouf, 21, joined West Ham from Slavia Prague in a deal worth £19 million less than 12 months ago.
West Ham have yet to reveal whether they are prepared to listen to offers for Diouf.

El Hadji Malick Diouf stats this season
Diouf has made 30 appearances for West Ham this season.
Although the Hammers have struggled for form and could be relegated with four games remaining, Diouf impressed at left-back with five assists.
That is more assists than any of United’s full-backs have managed, which is why Benjamin Sesko would benefit from Diouf or another left-back with the same attacking attributes.
Michael Carrick or whoever is in charge will want more assists from United’s full-backs next season.
