Manchester United are in the market for midfielders and Tottenham star Lucas Bergvall has made it clear he wants to leave.
Transfer expert David Ornstein broke the news on Sunday that Tottenham midfielder Lucas Bergvall wants to leave the North London club.
Bergvall is seeking a new challenge after spending two years with Spurs. Ornstein adds that there is interest from Premier League clubs and from Europe.
Back in March, I urged United to sign Bergvall by taking advantage of Tottenham’s poor season, and now Ineos have a golden opportunity to make it happen.

Man United’s advantage to sign Lucas Bergvall
Remarkably, this is the fourth opportunity United have to sign Bergvall.
Bergvall had trials at United in 2022 but Brexit rules stopped the Red Devils from making an official deal for the Swedish star.
Instead, the midfielder returned to Sweden to play for Djurgarden and United continued to scout Bergvall during that time. However, when he was ready to move, it was Tottenham who moved quickly to secure his signature.
There will be regret about missing out on Bergvall, but now he is available as a Premier League-proven star who could be sold for a discount given his request to leave.
What gives United a key advantage is the fact that Bergvall is a boyhood United fan who has been public about his support of the Red Devils.

Lucas Bergvall can solve Man United midfield search
United have already struck a £38m deal for Ederson, and now there are talks with Mateus Fernandes over a summer move.
But Fernandes’ £85m price tag is dragging out talks, and other targets like Sandro Tonali, Aurelien Tchouameni and Elliot Anderson are even more expensive.

Bergvall was valued at just £57m by Tottenham last season, and that price could drop even further now he has made it clear he wants to leave.
If Ineos want a cheaper option, while still signing a Premier League-proven midfielder, then Bergvall is a perfect option.
