Manchester United and England star Kobbie Mainoo is reportedly on the radar of one elite European club amid growing uncertainty around his Old Trafford future.
Kobbie Mainoo has become a mainstay in the Manchester United first team after his breakout season under Erik ten Hag in the 2023-24 campaign.
The 19-year-old Stockport-born player has become a key midfield influence for United and has earned widespread praise since his emergence at Old Trafford.
Ruben Amorim, who replaced Erik ten Hag as United manager, is a big fan of Mainoo and has deployed him as the preferred midfield partner alongside Manuel Ugarte.
Mainoo’s success at the Red Devils last season earned him his call-up to the England national team in 2024 and the United star played a starring role at Euro 2024.

Mainoo attracts more transfer interest
Kobbie Mainoo’s long-term future at Manchester United has been shrouded in mystery in recent weeks amid interest from Premier League side Chelsea.
The United midfielder is under contract with United until 2027 and Mainoo is reportedly tied down to £20,000-a-week wages as part of his current deal.
But it is claimed that Mainoo is ‘hopeful’ of securing a £200,000-a-week deal at United if he were to commit his future to the Red Devils.
According to reports in recent weeks, United are now willing to listen to offers for Red Devils youth academy products like Mainoo and Alejandro Garnacho.
The Sun now reports that Bayern Munich are monitoring the situation around Mainoo and the Bundesliga outfit are ‘long-term admirers’ of the United star.
The newspaper added that the German club are ‘planning to make a move’ for the England international if he ‘becomes available’ on the market.
Amorim sets challenge for Mainoo
Mainoo has made 18 appearances across all competitions in the current campaign, but the United star hasn’t netted or registered a single assist this season.
The Three Lions midfielder has seen his form take a hit in parts and Ruben Amorim has insisted that Mainoo can do “so much better” on the pitch.
Speaking ahead of the FA Cup win over Arsenal, Amorim said: “I think Kobbie Mainoo is improving a lot during the last matches, I think you guys [the media] feel like Kobbie Mainoo is the finished product – he is not, he has so much potential to grow up even more.
“He is really, really good but he can be so much better. I think he is improving, all the players are improving, all the players are important for me, no matter what.”
