Marcus Rashford dealt Old Trafford exit blow as one European club switches attention away from Man Utd star

Marcus Rashford is ‘not a topic’ for one European club that have ruled themselves out of the race to sign the Manchester United star, according to stunning reports.

The 27-year-old Manchester United star is all but certain to leave Old Trafford in the foreseeable future after falling down the pecking order under Ruben Amorim.

Ruben Amorim made the big decision to drop both Marcus Rashford and Alejandro Garnacho from his United squad for the 2-1 win against Manchester City.

The 39-year-old Portuguese manager insisted at the time that the decision was not based on a disciplinary issue, but he wanted to see more from both players.

Alejandro Garnacho has since been brought back into the fold in the United first team, but Rashford has not played a single minute since he was dropped.

Rashford has not played for United since the Red Devils’ 2-1 comeback win over Viktoria Plzen in the Europa League last December.

The England star made the bench for the 2-0 defeat to Newcastle at Old Trafford in United’s last match of 2024, but Amorim did not bring Rashford onto the pitch.

Rashford transfer ruled out by one club

Marcus Rashford is out of contract with Manchester United in 2028 and the Three Lions international has hinted that his future could be away from Old Trafford.

The United forward has attracted fierce transfer interest from clubs amid his uncertainty at Old Trafford, including from AC Milan and Borussia Dortmund.

According to Get French Football News, Monaco has now been ruled out as a potential club interested in signing Rashford from United.

The Ligue 1 outfit has been mooted as a potential suitor for Rashford, but the Red Devils star is ‘not being considered’ amid the January transfer window.

Get French Football News reports that Rashford is not of interest to Monaco after the French club signed former Arsenal man Mika Biereth from Sturm Graz.

Amorim speaks out on Rashford again

Rashford was left out of the United squad for the Red Devils’ penalty shootout win over Arsenal on Sunday afternoon in the third round of the FA Cup.

Speaking after the contest at the Emirates, Ruben Amorim was once again asked if United fans would see Rashford in a Red Devils shirt before a potential exit.

“I don’t know. We’ll see,” he said at his post-match press conference, as per ESPN.

“He is a player for Manchester United. We’ll see. He has to work.

“He has to represent his club and he loves his club but I have to make choices. I already spoke about how I make the choices. It is what it is.

“Let’s continue, let’s see the next game and like I said I have to make a selection.”
