‘I’m not naive’… BVB director claims what he can ‘never’ do in regard to Jadon Sancho loan

Jadon Sancho completed his loan move to Borussia Dortmund over the past few days, but now it’s been hinted he could be there long-term.

Manchester United have sent Jadon Sancho on a loan until the end of this season due to his falling out with Erik ten Hag.

The winger hasn’t played a minute for United since August in a 3-2 win over Nottingham Forest.

So a loan was in the best interests of all parties with there being no prospect for a return under Ten Hag given he refuses to apologise.

Now he’s in Dortmund and looks delighted to be there and the Borussia Dortmund Sporting director has dropped a hint on his future.

Borussia Dortmund director Sebastian Kehl refuses to rule out Jadon Sancho signing

Speaking upon Sancho’s arrival, with the quotes reported by Fabrizio Romano on X, Sebastian Kehl who is Dortmund’s Sporting director has spoken on the possibility of Sancho staying beyond this season.

He said: “We don’t have a buy option for Sancho. Staying here beyond this season? You can never rule anything out… but we know what kind of market value he can generate. I’m not naive – but we’ll let things come to us.”

The fact Kehl has remained so coy on the possibility of Sancho remaining at the Signal Iduna Park long-term should speak volumes on how overjoyed they are to have him.

This is also a sentiment shared by Graeme Bailey who told United in Focus that the loan could end up being extended until 2025.

Manchester United finally make a genius transfer market move

United rarely ever make a move in the transfer market which makes anyone impressed, but right here they managed a genius move.

Before the loan was completed, United were said to have refused a buy option which – given the situation – would’ve been very low.

But now, as Sancho could very well thrive at Dortmund he could end up with a value far higher than what United were set to receive in January.

Alternatively, if he performs well and the loan is extended, United would be happy to let him remain as his value would only increase. This could be a stroke of genius from Ineos and United.
