Manchester United’s pursuit of a new left winger this summer has been well documented, with Iliman Ndiaye on Ineos’ list of potential targets.

After another sensational season for Everton, Iliman Ndiaye is on the agenda for Manchester United this summer.

Among the supporters of this move, Wayne Rooney has urged United to sign Ndiaye, which is a glowing endorsement from a club legend of both sides.

Despite interest from United and others, Everton want Ndiaye to sign a new contract to secure their prized asset. But with these efforts at a standstill, Everton have now set a price tag.

Everton want £69m for Iliman Ndiaye

This week has seen United linked with Ndiaye again, as he was placed on the shortlist ahead of the summer transfer window.

It would be a brilliant move for United, considering that he is both Premier League proven and versatile.

But now The Athletic have an update which claims Ndiaye hasn’t expressed a desire to leave Everton at the moment, despite rejecting new contract offers.

However, the speculation and links to elite clubs, as the article puts it, mean that there is sure to be a point when offers arrive.

To sell, Everton are likely to demand a fee of around £69m, using Anthony Gordon to Barcelona as a benchmark for how much their maverick talent should be worth this summer.

This isn’t far off his value, which is probably closer to the £60m mark, but if United really want him, it wouldn’t be an impossible deal to do.

Manchester United could see Ndiaye’s valuation skyrocket

Ndiaye has been vocal about admiring Old Trafford, and if United do decide he is the player needed, he could be calling it home next season.

It feels like a deal United could complete without too much stress.

This being said, if Ndiaye has a barnstorming World Cup campaign with Senegal this summer, a deal might be more complicated with his fee likely to rise and additional suitors probably entering the fray.

Senegal are in the ‘Group of Death’ this summer, with France, Norway, and Iraq. But Senegal were the AFCON final winners – before being stripped of that award, and have an excellent chance to go far, in which Ndiaye could be key.

If Ndiaye announces himself on the World Cup stage, United will have a much tougher task to sign him.

So if he is wanted, Ineos should probably arrange that deal sooner than later.
