Manchester United’s transfer shortlist this summer extends beyond the midfield, and now Wayne Rooney has picked out a left winger for Ineos to target.
The left side of Manchester United’s team is set to be bolstered this summer, as Ineos targets both a left-back and also a winger.
Yan Diomande is one winger heavily linked with United, as the Ivory Coast international looks likely to cost around £100m, which would be a big risk.
Cheaper options have also been considered as United look at Mika Godts from Ajax, who has been tearing it up in the Eredivisie, although comparisons will be drawn between him and Antony.
However, Iliman Ndiaye stands out as a Premier League-proven option.
Who is your DREAM left-wing signing this summer for Man United?
Should it be a proven star or a youngster with huge talent? Name your pick…

Wayne Rooney wants Iliman Ndiaye at Manchester United
United have been credited with interest in Ndiaye this summer in a move which would be in line with how Ineos acted last summer, signing forwards who have proven it in the league.
Ndiaye would be a strong option for United, likely for a similar fee to Matheus Cunha and Bryan Mbeumo last summer.
Now, Wayne Rooney has spoken on The Wayne Rooney Show podcast and admitted he would like Ndiaye at Old Trafford, but also wants Everton to hold onto him.
“Yeah, he’s a top player. I’d like to see him at United.
“I’d like to see him stay at Everton, obviously, but unfortunately, you know, I think players want Champions League football.
“If Everton can get Champions League football, he has to stay.”
Given Everton sits 11th and can achieve a maximum of 59 points, Champions League football is surely already off the table for the Toffees.
Therefore, Ndiaye would undoubtedly be open to an Old Trafford switch.
What is your reaction to Manchester United’s interest in Iliman Ndiaye?
Iliman Ndiaye has had a strong season for Everton
While signing a younger, more exciting option on paper might be favoured by Ineos, there would be no complaints over adding the talent of Ndiaye to the ranks.
This season, Ndiaye has only scored six goals and assisted three, but his all-around performances have been far better than this suggests.
Ndiaye is one of the best dribblers in the league, boasting a 53% success rate. Meanwhile, he is also one of the best duel-winning wingers in the 98th percentile in the league.
For a club higher up the table, Ndiaye would be perfect as a winger to try to break down low blocks with his dribbling.
However, the one big concern would be that he’s quite similar to Cunha, and the wing addition should really offer something else.
But adding talent can’t be overlooked.
