Manchester United have a price tag in mind for West Ham midfielder Mateus Fernandes amid their major rebuild this summer, according to stunning reports.

The Manchester United midfield area is believed to be a top priority for the Ineos regime at Old Trafford ahead of the 2026-27 Premier League campaign.

Casemiro will leave the Red Devils at the end of June after his contract expires and Man Utd are tipped to offload Manuel Ugarte from Old Trafford in the summer.

Mateus Fernandes has been heavily linked with United in recent months and the 21-year-old Portuguese midfielder is attracting major interest from elite clubs.

Man Utd have now ‘valued’ West Ham and Portugal star Mateus Fernandes

Mateus Fernandes is under contract with West Ham until 2030 and the Portugal international has deeply impressed during his spell at the London Stadium.

However, West Ham now face a real challenge in keeping hold of the Manchester United-linked Fernandes after being relegated on the final day of the season.

Both Paris Saint-Germain and Premier League champions Arsenal have also been linked with a move for Fernandes, who signed for West Ham back in 2024.

According to Flashscore, United have valued the former Southampton and Sporting CP midfielder in the region of £50m and are now weighing up a potential move.

West Ham’s transfer stance on Mateus Fernandes amid the interest of Man Utd, PSG and Arsenal

Flashscore reports that there is a ‘belief’ that Fernandes will be an available transfer target and the Red Devils are ‘looking to understand the terms’ over a potential deal.

However, United’s position on landing Fernandes from West Ham is built on striking a ‘reasonable deal’ rather than overpaying for the talented Portuguese midfielder.

It has been claimed by Flashscore’s ‘sources’ that West Ham want ‘other clubs to come into the mix’ over a potential transfer approach for Man Utd target Fernandes.

The Hammers are reportedly keen to see a ‘bidding war’ take place for the Portugal international and to ‘drive up his price’ before sanctioning a sale this summer.
